I am absolutely in love with the Cabaret of Planets book, which I received for my birthday. It has been an excellent evening read, as it is interesting but does not make my heart pump with excitement so that I can’t sleep. The illustrations and pictures are lovely and it is so wonderful to read about the diversity of plants. The thousands of years old trees, the weird places where flowers bloom, how people are affected by plants and how they are discovered. This time I was really inspired by one of the illustrations in the book, which was part of illustration series called ‘Plants of the Coast of Coromandel’. The illustrations are stunning, so I just had to share them with you!
These pics I got from the Pinterest board Biodiversity library and I encourage those of you who loved these illustrations to go and check other ones that can be found there!
Sister for a visit
My sister visited me for a few days. It was right at the time when I needed to see her and we had such a lovely time hanging around Glasgow and chatting a lot! We visited new and old places to eat, got inspired in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and tested our knowledge in Harry Potter trivia (#harrypotter4life).
The Ultimate Zero Waste Kit
Ethical Unicorn wrote a post about the Zero Waste Kit by Bag Me. Basically, it was what I have been waiting for!
I often like to try something new and although I have done some sort of boxing before, it feels like something new when you haven’t done it in a long time. It was a lot of fun and really tough! NK also thought me how to do ball hockey shots.
Walks in the sunshine
The weather has actually been quite diabolical these past few weeks, with sunshine, rain and snow all appearing several times within a day. Fortunately, I have managed to get a walk in the sunshine, warming my mind and heart from the cold winter, in between the greyness.
I am not a fan of rain and wind, but when I’m at home and watching the weather changing every 15 minutes it does keep the day exciting, whilst distracting me of course. This weather truly makes me feel that I live in Scotland!
My favourite part about spring after all the light is the spring flowers. Whenever tulips arrive in the stores I get so excited and want to buy more than one bouquet. This time I made an arrangement of pastel coloured tulips and roses, and man they are making me happy!!
What are you happy about this week?
Warm and light spring days with long walks outside!
To get rid of the cactus in my throat.
Quick reading abilities. I have so many books to read and I am anxious to get through them.
Going to a sauna. The hot moist air that purifies the skin and the body of all toxins! (one of the only things I miss from Finland)
A comfier couch. Ours is a poor resemblance of a couch which makes my back ache and it’s not actually comfy to sit on.
To not have to read any more upsetting news, at the same time I am so thankful to be able to know what is going around the world.
Uncorrupt media and world governments…
A really good tiramisu. I rarely want one, but for the past couple of weeks I’ve been looking out for the one, I would like to have.
A holiday. Warm, with clear waters and good food, that is all I need.. and maybe some adventure 😀 With friends, with my family and with my loved ones!
Having more energy!
Some clarity in my mind.
My own garden to plant herbs, fruits, veggies and flowers in it!
Being confident to speak out all of my opinions, not only here but in general.
What are you dreaming about just now?
The big little things
For Christmas, we got money with which we bought a new bed, a side table for me and a laundry basket. Simple things, but oh the joy! The bed has underneath drawers which fit in them so much stuff. The organisational freak inside me got a treat when I got to organise all out drawers again and make our house a much more organised and neater looking space. But the most excited I am for the laundry basket. It is neat and tidy looking and fits a lot inside. We used to use a big Ikea bag before, which I didn’t want to keep in the room, but we were too lazy to put the laundry into the walking wardrobe either, so this has finally solved the problem and I am so happy with the new found neatness in our flat!
Reading my new books
It took me 2 and a half months to read a book in the end of the year 2016, so when at Christmas I finally had time to read I’ve finished 3 books within 3 weeks! Actually, one I finished in just 2 days. The enjoyment of reading was one of the favourite bits of my holiday and I’ve kept it up since!
I always decorate my house with flowers over Christmas, but this year only poinsettia was flowering over the holidays. My amaryllis grew and grew, but it flowered only this week. And I’ve been planning to acquire an orchid for ages now and finally I bought one that I love. I have already read instructions on how to care for it and am adamant to keep it alive!
I am loving everything jasmine at the moment! I have green tea with jasmine, which makes me so happy. And when I go to bed I use jasmine oil to fill the room with a lovely scent. Such a lovely way to go to bed! I would definitely recommend this shop if you are looking to get some jasmine oil for yourself!

5 Ways to help you reduce your footprint

Last weekend we travelled through to Edinburgh to visit the Emily Millichip pop up shop. She is a local designer with some amazing accessories and garments in the most beautifully coloured tropical prints! And if you missed it, don’t worry. She sells a lot of her stuff online as well. Check her out here.
Gilmore Girls night
It has been hard to miss the fact that Gilmore Girls A Year in the Life came out last week. I was so excited about it, that I planned a gilmore girl day with my friends. Yummy snacks, coffee and gilmore girls for the whole day. Yey!
I do like to see a blockbuster movie just the same as the next person, but I am not a big fan of Marvel movies. Some of them are better than the others, but they all follow pretty much the same recipe. Doctor Strange, however, I liked. It was different, with the magic and amazing visual in the movie I enjoyed watching it!
I think this will be on the happy favourites list for several times in a row, but I am a Christmas person. Few more Christmas decorations, poinsettia and some nice advent calendars make this time of the year very exciting!
These flowers in this picture made me so happy. They are so beautiful!
